Jesus Christ Superstar
Keswick Theatre
291 Keswick Ave. Glenside
A rock 'n' roll retelling of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricst Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar changed the face of musical theater when it debuted on Broadway in 1971. The musical satire follows Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by his message and his popularity, his betrayal by Judas Iscariot, his trial before Pontius Pilate, and his violent crucifixion. Chart-topping songs such as "Superstar," "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him" dramatically highlight the struggles leading up to those final seven days. Presented by Midnight Productions, this high-octane Tony Award-winning spectacular bursts onto the stage of Glenside's Keswick Theatre.
