The Red Room Cabaret at Philly's Society Hill Playhouse goes for the green with its 19th anniversary production of Lafferty's Wake, recreating a signature Irish send-off at a local pub. So join Charlie Lafferty's widow, his loving daughter, the parish priest and others as they raise a glass to the dear departed scoundrel who apparently had a taste for rambling and gambling. Along with jokes and stories, you'll also hear some great traditional favorites, including "Molly Malone," "Whiskey in the Jar," "Wild Rover," and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," to name but a few. It's the perfect way to celebrate St. Paddy's Day.
