Set against the background of a changing America from the 1950s to the 1990s, John & Jen is the story of Jen and her relationships with the two Johns of her life: her younger brother, and her son. The actors take their characters from childhood through adolescence and beyond. Along the way they explore complicated family connections and how to heal after a tragic loss. John & Jen was the debut musical of composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa, who went on to write music and lyrics for The Wild Party and The Addams Family and contributed three new songs to the Broadway version of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
